Leyla AkcaJungian coaching Book a free first session

Jungian coaching. The first session is free.

A space between what you have discoveredand how you choose to live.

Jungian coaching is an invitation to explore your inner world, engage with what emerges, and discover how it might find expression in your everyday life. I am Leyla Akca, a creative arts psychotherapist opening a small number of coaching places. Begin with one free session; if we both feel coaching is appropriate and you want to continue, further sessions are at a rate we agree in advance. Online, in English or Turkish.

  1. 1Start with one session.

About an hour, online, free. The only initial commitment.

  2. ThenIf you want to keep going, I share my rate.

Paid sessions, with the rate agreed in advance, if you wish to continue and coaching is suitable.

  3. AlwaysYou can stop at any point.

    Continuing is entirely your choice.

Why Jungian coaching

What if the answers you are looking for are not entirely within your conscious awareness? Dreams, images, feelings and recurring patterns can invite us to see a familiar question differently. Jungian coaching brings that exploration into conversation with the choices of everyday life.

Weathered wood grain flowing around a single knot

Jung described the unconscious as more than a storehouse of what we avoid: he saw it as a source of images, patterns and creative possibility. We can approach these expressions with curiosity, without assuming that any dream or symbol has one fixed meaning.

We begin with something you are living with: a question, transition, conflict or experience that has stayed with you. Through conversation, images, drawing or active imagination when appropriate, we explore what it evokes. We return to your own associations, your present experience and the practical possibilities you discover.

  • What it isA collaborative exploration of your own meanings.Images, patterns and conversation alongside practical reflection.Room to consider what an insight might mean in daily life.
  • What it is notPsychotherapy or crisis treatment. An interpretation imposed on your experience.A promise of instant answers or transformation.

What it gives you

Possibilities we can explore together, without prescribing what you should discover.

The meaning is yours to discover. Our work supports your autonomy, not someone else's interpretation.

  • Distance from the problem. An image or metaphor can offer another perspective on a situation that feels difficult to see from within.
  • A name for the pattern. Notice recurring roles and responses, then explore what they mean to you rather than fitting them into a ready-made label.
  • The other half of the argument. Explore competing needs or impulses without forcing either side to disappear. What might each be trying to express?
  • A third position. Sometimes staying with a tension allows a new perspective to emerge. We consider what that possibility could look like in your actual life.

From insight to integration

Not an interpretation.
A relationship with your experience.

I am not here to tell you what your experience means. I accompany you in developing a relationship with it, discovering what it means to you, and finding your own way of bringing that understanding into life.

Sometimes something changes the way we see ourselves, but we do not yet know how to live with what we have discovered. Other times, a dream, image or recurring pattern seems to ask for our attention. We can stay curious without rushing to an explanation.

Insight alone does not necessarily create change. Together, we explore how an emerging understanding might become a choice, a conversation, a boundary or a small experiment in everyday life.

This is for you if

By an experience I mean anything large enough that the person who comes out is not quite the person who went in. A birth or a death. An illness or a diagnosis. Leaving a marriage, a country, a career or a faith. Love, or its ending. A ceremony, a retreat, or a stretch of intensive practice. Some of these you choose. Some arrive without asking.

  • Something big happened, and ordinary life has not caught up with it.
  • You have chosen an experience and it is coming up, and you want to go in ready.
  • An experience you sought out left you shaken instead of settled.
  • You are in between. One life has ended and the next has not started.
  • You got what you worked for, and now you have to live after it.
  • Nothing in particular has happened, and something is still asking.

How it works, in three stages

The first session is the only commitment I ask you to make: an hour to explore your question and see whether this work feels appropriate. If you wish to continue and coaching is a suitable form of support, further sessions are paid at a rate we discuss in advance. Continuing is always optional.

Stage one

One session

Free. About an hour, online, at a time that suits you.

Bring a question, experience or transition you are living with. We explore it together, and consider whether coaching is the right kind of support. This is a full session, not a sales call. There is no obligation to book another.

Stage two

If you want to continue

Paid, at a rate we agree before you commit.

If the first hour opened something and coaching feels appropriate, we continue at my rate, which we discuss before you make any commitment. We can return to what emerged, explore what has shifted and consider how to bring your understanding into daily life.

Stage three

For as long as it helps

Continuing is entirely your choice.

We work together for as long as it is useful to you. You are free to stop after any session.

What the hour is like

About an hour, online, on a video call. No preparation beyond thinking about what you might bring. You can change your mind about that when we start.

FirstWe begin with your question.

A decision, transition, recurring pattern or experience. It does not have to be clearly formed. We begin by finding language for what matters to you, without forcing a complex experience into a neat answer.

ThenWe give it a form.

Depending on what feels appropriate, we might use a dream, a drawing, a metaphor, a symbolic image or guided imagination. There are no fixed interpretations and no artistic ability is needed. We follow your associations at a pace that feels workable.

ThenYou take a step back into your week.

We explore what the experience means to you, then ask how that understanding could enter your everyday life. That might be a small experiment, a different question or simply something to notice. You decide what, if anything, to take forward.

Good to know

The plain terms, so that nothing about the arrangement is a surprise.

  • You do not need to know any Jung. Or believe anything in particular. The tools do the work, and the vocabulary arrives as you need it.
  • It is coaching, not therapy. Coaching is distinct from psychotherapy. If your needs call for deeper or different care, we can explore what support would fit, identify suitable professionals or services, and work out next steps together. Coaching will not be used as a substitute for needed treatment.
  • What you say stays with me. The same confidentiality I keep as a psychotherapist.
  • The first session is free. It is an opportunity to explore the work, not a promise that any question can be resolved within an hour.
  • You can stop at any point. After one session, after many, mid-conversation. You will not be asked to explain.

Care that fits

Sometimes the next step is different support.

Not every experience needs psychotherapy. And not every experience is suited to coaching. We will keep checking what kind of support serves you, rather than forcing your needs into a single method.

If something calls for deeper clinical care or another kind of support, I will help you clarify what you need, consider who could provide it and shape a realistic next step. You remain involved in those decisions throughout.

Coaching is not crisis care or a substitute for necessary mental-health treatment.

Portrait of Leyla Akca

Why I do this

Over the past 15 years, my work in trauma-informed mental health support, alongside my own personal journey, has shown me that not every experience requiring integration calls for therapy. Often, what is needed is a thoughtful bridge between an inner discovery and the life someone is returning to. Jungian coaching lets me work with images, imagination and the stories beneath familiar patterns while keeping the client's own meaning-making and choices at the centre. Therapy remains important when deeper clinical care is needed; coaching is a different kind of relationship, not a replacement.

I am opening a small number of coaching places. Begin with one free session. If you want to continue and coaching is appropriate, further sessions are by an agreed rate. If another form of care would serve you better, we can work out together what you need and where to find it.
